Like Wood, Stone or Metal, Upright, Sometimes Reclining, Folding, is a sculptural installation consisting of cast modular objects displayed on shelves. The work is made from multiples of the same forms arranged in different configurations. It combines classical and modernist architectural shapes to explore the relationship between interior and exterior spaces and the body. These playful ornamental pieces resemble abstracted body parts or geological structures, such as hills, breasts and minerals.

The work engages with ideas surrounding objects and their display, highlighting the tension between the display of formal museum collections and the presentation of domestic items. Exploring the concept of high and low, it also touches upon the notion of value by incorporating cheap materials.

The group exhibition showcased Cultivator Creative Investment Grant recipients work.
